Hi Bethan, Nice to meet you. You're right. You can learn to speak Welsh even in other countries. I'm Dutch and picked up the course. Don't have enough time however to really study at the moment, but it will come. The hardest part is that it's a course Welsh/English, so I have to translate everything from English to Dutch, which is time consuming. But I'm determined to learn. Btw, my wish to learn speak Welsh is not because of Ioan or Matthew. I've been interested in Wales for at least 8 years. Always browsing the tourist brochures. Hopefully this year or next year I will finally be able to go...

Hi! I'm Ellen, and I'm a relatively new fan of Matthew's. I first saw him on Brothers and Sisters when it came on, and I was hooked. He was so brilliant in his acting [and still is], he doesn't seem to make any wrong choices. And he was ridicously pretty. Then I watched his interviews and found out he had that lovely Welsh accent... sigh. It's love. I've only seen Mattie in The Abduction Club, Beau Brummel: This Charming Man, and The Lost World besides B&S, and if anyone has any reccomendations I'd totally be in debt to you.

Hi Ellen!
I envy you for having seen Beau Brummel and The Lost World. Can't get my hands on either of them.

Hi Ellen , Nice to 'meet' you. My choice for 'must haves' are 'House of America' and 'Very Annie Mary'. the last one has him teamed up with best friend Ioan Gruffudd and the principal actress is Rachel Griffiths, Matthew's sister on B&S. But other work I have seen with him such as Peaches, Sorted and Deathwatch are good too. Still have to see Fakers. If you really want to see him do 'something totally different'. Get 'Titus', but be warned, it is a gruesome movie with death, revenge, murder, rape, more revenge and insanity and cruelty. Based on Shakespeare in modern style with disturbing images. It stars Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange. But you'll see another side of Matthew there! I personally found it worth watching. But not movie for a'nice evening on the couch with a bag of popcorn'.

Actually, Very Annie Mary's the first thing I'm going to buy once I get my next paycheck. I love Rachel Griffiths and Ioan too, despite some of his more unfortunate film roles [102 Dalmations Why Ioan, why?]. I'll check out House of America as soon as possible then, too. Thanks. And I'll get to all the rest when I have some more money. It's very mean of video stores, not to carry any of Matthew's movies. But he's on TV here every week, and Virgin Territory and Edge of Love [which isn't as good a title as The Best Times of our Lives, IMO] will be coming here, so I can't really complain too much.

Hi Ellen! Like Sylviane I'd recommend House Of America and VAM. Fakers is quite good as well. I agree. I hope it doesn't go through half a dozen name changes like Virgin Territory (if that's what it's called today )

Hi Cymru, thanks for you offer to help. I might take you up on it one of these days... You are so lucky. The chances that Matthew will be filming in Wales are bigger than his coming to Holland. Oh well, maybe one of these days... You have to have hope, righ?

I have a lot of respect for anyone learning Welsh! I'm currently studying it as part of my degree (I'm Welsh and politics joint honours) and as I'm second language I know how tough it can be! Beca
